Test Run for Dehydrating Blackberries - Forget This

The Excalibur Dehydrating book says that all Berries are poor for dehydrating - but I thought I would do a test run with pristine berries. Only used medium, great-looking berries that were picked today. The instructions are no pre-treatment but to dehydrate at 135 F for 7-9 hours until crisp and leathery - don't know how they can be both but I'm willing to try it.

This took days - and the resulting crunch balls were tart, not sweet at all, and grainy. Think we can take this out of rotation.
