Or at least there will be soon. We finally got the word that were are getting a male golden retriever from Dog Star Farms. He looks very sweet, but we haven't seen him in person (or I guess that should be "in dog") because of the CoVID-19 pandemic. We pick him up from Lovettsville on April 30th. The litter was born March 5, 2020. We have been watching the whole litter grow on skype and through the website they mounted, but we haven't been sure which one would be ours until this week.
Tom thought we would end up with Blue Boy and as usual, Tom was right.
Well, the kennels are clean, the dog washing room cleared out, I need to shampoo the rug, and put away a lot of the things he won't be needing for a while. Tom and I have to remember the rules and then agree on them all over again. Sounds like he looks pretty good since he was a very close second to the male the breeder placed in a show home.
I don't think I'm as fast as I used to be - we'll see if I can keep up with an 8 week old puppy. The pedigree looks good, with the dam from the line - Lycinan's - that Libby's daddy "Bang" was from. And in fact, Bang shows up as #5's great-great Grand Dad. We'll wait to see if a name comes up - since most of our dogs sort of picked their names. But a suggestion was made of Hope's Blue Diamond but I don't know whether we have that many characters available.
